Who we are
MathApp is operated by TAM Consulting Private Limited, of Aab Para Society, Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore, Pakistan. MathApp is a practice-quiz app for learners from Reception through Year 13, used directly by students and by teachers running classes.
Summary
| Category | What |
|---|---|
| Account data | Email or username, first name, year group, avatar, practice results |
| Cookies — strictly necessary | Sign-in session and CSRF protection only |
| Advertising | Not yet live — see "Advertising" below |
| Tracking | No analytics, no advertising profiling, no third-party tracking pixels |
| Third parties | Brevo (transactional email) and Google (AdSense site verification) — no one else |
| Retention | 24 months of inactivity, or 30 days unconfirmed consent, then automatic deletion |
What we collect
- Account details: an email address, or a school-issued username for
learners added by a teacher — never both are required.
- First name or nickname (displayed in the app; not a full legal name).
- Year group (e.g. "Year 4") — used to show age-appropriate content.
- Avatar — one of a small set of preset illustrations the learner picks.
- Practice results — which questions were attempted, whether they were
answered correctly, and quiz scores over time, so progress can be shown to the learner, their teacher, and (for under-13 accounts) their parent.
- City/country (optional, teacher/admin accounts may add this).
We do not collect a home address, phone number, date of birth, or photo.
Children's accounts and parental consent
Accounts for learners in Reception through Year 8 (typically under 13) require a parent or guardian's verified email confirmation before the account can be used, unless the account was created by a teacher acting under their school's own consent arrangements. See our consent email for exactly what is collected and why.
A parent or guardian can, at any time, ask us to show them everything we hold on their child, or to delete their child's account — see "Your rights" below.
Advertising
We do not currently display any advertisements. We have registered with Google AdSense and added the site-verification tag and `ads.txt` file Google requires to review the site, but no advertisement has been placed or is shown anywhere in MathApp today.
When we do begin showing ads, this section will be updated first, and — because our service is directed to children — we will designate it as child-directed with Google, meaning Google will serve only non-personalised advertisements: adverts selected based on the content of the page rather than on any profile of the viewer, never used for interest-based targeting, remarketing or profiling. We will not share account information — names, email addresses, usernames, year groups or practice results — with Google or any advertiser.
You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Cookies
We use only cookies that are strictly necessary: keeping you signed in and protecting the app against cross-site request forgery. These are set by MathApp itself and don't track you across other sites.
We do not currently use any advertising or analytics cookies. If we begin showing ads (see "Advertising" above), Google may then set cookies or similar identifiers necessary to serve and measure those ads and prevent fraud — this section will be updated at that time to describe them specifically.
Who we share data with
We share data with exactly two third parties:
- Brevo, our transactional email provider, which receives only the
email address needed to deliver a specific message (e.g. a sign-in link or a parental consent request) — never quiz results, names, or year groups.
- Google, for AdSense site verification only at present — Google
receives technical information such as IP address and browser type needed to verify our site. Once we begin showing ads (see "Advertising" above), Google will also receive page content needed to select a non-personalised ad; it will never receive account information.
We do not sell data, and we do not share data with anyone else.
Storage and security
Our servers are located in Europe, hosted by Hostinger. Backups are kept for 14 days. Server logs are retained for no more than 90 days.
International transfers
If you access MathApp from outside Europe, your information will be transferred to and stored on our servers in Europe, as described above.
How long we keep data
- Accounts with no sign-in for 24 months are automatically deleted, with a
warning email sent 30 days beforehand where we have an email address on file.
- An account awaiting parental consent is automatically deleted if consent
is not confirmed within 30 days.
- Backups are kept for 14 days.
- Server logs are retained for no more than 90 days.
Governing law
This policy, and your use of MathApp, is governed by the laws of Pakistan.
Your rights
From your profile page, you can:
- Download your data — a JSON file of your profile, quiz history, and
every practice attempt.
- Delete your account — permanently removes your account and all
associated quiz history.
A parent, guardian, or school may also contact us directly to request an export or deletion on a learner's behalf.
